Where to find Grand Manse News

(If you’re reading, this you have already discovered a great source for GM news.)

We know you love your Grand Manse newsletter with pithy comments on life in the GM, but if you really want to be in the inner circle, follow the lifestyle blog on the Grand Manse web site. You’ll find postings about the building (murals, wine cellars, new historic pictures) and  upcoming events (D*Funk dance party before the Texas game).

Also become a fan of the Grand Manse on Facebook and    follow us on Twitter. You never know when (or if) we might have a brilliant thought or important information to post.  Make sure you’re getting our newsletter via e-mail. Add

cconger@usproperty.biz to your address book.

Who’s Who?

Don’t make our accountants guess which unit to credit your rent payment to. Please write your building and unit number on the memo line of your rent check. If rich Uncle Louie pays your rent, make sure he includes the same information plus your name on the memo line.

Trash Room Update

The trash compactor  has been installed and is humming along in the west trash room. The east trash room and east trash chute are now closed.

If you take garbage directly to the trash room, put it inside the trash compactor through the door that is clearly marked (or soon will be).

If you didn’t know there was a trash room or trash chute and your apartment is smelling a little rank from the growing  garbage pile, ask for a personal orientation to our garbage disposal process.

Keep up the recycling by using the bins in the mail room. Please let the office know If you’d like a recycling tote for your apartment.

American Express

We will no longer be accepting American Express for rent payments. The high fees charged by American Express make it prohibitive for us to accept this card. We do accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover Card.

Happy Hour Thursday

Ahh…it’s a puppy…eating ice cream

That’s right. We are not above manipulating you with cute animals and sugar.  It’s almost Third Thursday again. It seems like just a few days ago we spent the wee hours of Happy Hour groaning about the Laker’s win. Now we can groan about LeBron’s ego AND eat ice cream.

Happy Hour begins at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, July 15th in the Jasmine Room. In observance of National Ice Cream Day (which is officially the third Sunday in July, for those playing along at home) we’ll be scooping  ice cream and serving drink specials until at least 8:00 p.m.

We’ll see you Thursday. (Come on…it’s a puppy…eating ice  cream. Don’t make me play the cat card.)

Trash Room Closing

The east trash room will be closing before the end of July.

The Grand Manse is installing a trash compactor in the west trash room. When it’s in place, the east trash room will be closed. All  residents will need to dispose of  garbage in the west trash chutes or trash room. Watch for notices on the    exact closing date.

Take advantage of the recycling bins in the mail room. Please let the office know If you’d like a recycling tote for your apartment.

Lead Where You Are

The Global Leadership Summit is an opportunity to be inspired to lead where you are. The faith-based summit originates from Chicago and will be simulcast in the Jasmine Room Aug. 5-6.

Be challenged by world-class leaders including Tony Dungy, former NFL coach, and Jack Welch, former CEO of GE.

Call Carly (303-501-2241) to register under special rates for Grand Manse residents.

Renters Insurance: A Really, Really Good Idea

Last night we had a fire in one of our apartment buildings in north Lincoln. Today, we have tenants who really wish they had renter’s insurance. Don’t wait to experience loss first-hand. Call your insurance agent and get a quote to insure your belongings, or call our agent Dave Kirby at 466-2800. Renter’s insurance is generally very affordable (about $10/month) and worth the peace of mind.

Celebrate “Clear off Your Desk Day”
June 17th Grand Manse Happy Hour

Clear off Your Desk Day, which is the theme for this month’s Happy Hour, is not to be confused with Clean off Your Desk Day, which is observed in January (as you are all well aware). “Cleaning” requires organizing, sorting, filing and other assorted “ings’ that sound like a lot of work. “Clearing” involves a garbage can and your arm. Sweep arm across desk and allow anything in the way to fall into the garbage can. Done!* Now head over to the Jasmine Room for Happy Hour with the great feeling that your desk and mind are clear!
*Disclaimer: If your boss asks, I did NOT actually suggest that you throw away the computer, the phone, the fax machine, the picture of your boss’s spouse or anything else that may or may not be perceived as valuable. You came up with that all on your own.)

Happy Hour begins at 5:00 p.m. and goes until we clear off the bar (probably between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m.) If the NBA Finals (yes, they are still playing that) goes seven games, we’ll tune that in at 8:00 and stay until the Celtics win.

Everyone attending Happy Hour gets his or her name in a drawing for fabulous prizes. (Hey, you’ll need something to set on your amazingly clear desk.) You’ll also be entered into the drawing for two tickets to the October Murder Mystery.
